well, I might have a great opportunity for a great promotion in the next week. Really, I should find out tomorrow. I've been having a lot of issues with my job. Not big ones, but I feel like I am being taken advantage of. Like they think I'm this young and dumb kid who will do anything for a whopping $8 an hour. Since I started working here, I've been given a LOT more responsibilities that a lot of the time you have to have gone to college to do.
Pray I get this promotion because I am struggling for money.
If I don't get a promotion and or a raise I will be looking for a new job.
So, they are begging Karen to stay and the offered her a great position with good money and so shes contemplating staying. Either way, she is out of Accounts Payable (which is what I would be doing) Karen is 100% sure I am going to get it just because of what my super has been saying. But I dont know, we will see. My super just left for the day.. so what the doo?

I will. See, my super is pregnant and yesterday she was VERY moody.. so I didnt go in. Today she's a lot better, so I might go in after I train a little bit today.

I have no idea what is going on anymore. I'm getting trained on all this stuff, and then they tell us that someone is going to come in on the 27th to train. So I went to my super and said I am getting trained on all this stuff and I was wondering if it is going to be long term or just short term til someone else comes? and she said "your position isn't going to change.. but I would like for you to know it long term" and then I got nervous and said ok and left. WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN? I got mad and was like what the freak is the point in me training if I am not even going to do this. So then later I went back to her to give her something and she said "im sorry I was so quick with you earlier.. basically we don't know yet. It all depends on what level the person we hire is on"
And that makes me mad as well.. again with the why am I even doing this? It would make more sense to just give me her job and then hire another HS kid, like i was, to do what I was doing..
I have put in a transfer to the new Wal-Mart in another town and trying to get a position stocking shelves, and all that management can say is "We're trying to find a position for you in the store!"
And they have promised me to get me a job as a janitor, a grocery unloader, and even a door greeter...but I am STILL a CART PUSHER!!!
I am waiting for that transfer, but if I don't get it...I might just have to go looking for a job ELSEWHERE!
The only advice that I can give you is to stay where you're at untill a job opportunity that is more SOLID comes along. And THEN go for it!!!

The new lady is here today. Everyone so far who has found out about this new person and how I didnt get the job is beyond upset. This is Karen's last week. She has to train this person like CRAZY. SOOOO much to learn. Vivian (new lady) is just sitting behind Karen, watching her, not taking notes. At one point she was eating yogurt. She is going to be waaaaaaay beyond lost. When she asks me a question, my answer will be I dont know.
I'm so livid about this whole thing. Ted (a head guy of something) came in and said something, and the way he said it was so wrong. My face instantly got hot.. and I think he knew I was upset.
Ted is the one who basically runs my job. He didn't want to make me full time, my super, Melanie, faught for me. Now, after doing Karen's job for a few weeks, they KNOW I can do it with no problem. Melanie and Drew (her boss) had even made comments to other people about how quick and good I was.. IT'S TED!! I don't know what he has agaisnt me... seriously.
The new chick goes to lunch... and never comes back.

So, I marched my butt into Melanie's office and said "I would like to have this job.." and she said "well I know you are perfectly capable of doing her job. I know you can do it. The issue is time." I didnt understand so I asked what she meant. "Well, to Ted, covering the phones is first priority (which is what i do when our receptionist is at lunch (1 hr) and doing the mail (15 mins))" So I said that since our new receptionist, i havent spent a 10th of what i used to up front so i dont see why that is an issue. She said that either way they are going to have to hire someone else. I agreed.
Hi Amy, I am so sorry to hear about what is going on where you work. Seems companys have no heart for an employee who can and does the job and does it well. Sounds like this Ted person is a pill bucket ( I put that nicely).. I had a boss like that one time .. He was to hire a recp. for the company. He hung out in bars and every gal that came was dress like the hooker she was.. Finally the shop foreman stepped in and told him everyone was leaving if he hired one of "those".. He didn't but then he also left. Really broke our hearts..
You hang in there and fight for yourself.. AND then again , maybe the Lord has bigger and better things for you to do.
