This Friday evening, my family is heading a charity bean supper and auction to raise money for the trip that they will have to take to Cincinnati's Children's Hospital for my niece's operation to have her trake removed and facial-reconstruction surgery. Please pray that everything will go okay with the supper and that a lot of money will be raised. Some local businesses, including Wal-Mart of Stanford, have donated things like ice, cooking pots and gifts for people to bid on to help raise money. Already, over $500 has been raised from some Lincoln County churches.
All donations will be used for the expenditures of a motel room, food and whatever else will be required for my mom, sister and brother-in-law's stay with Rebecca as she undergoes surgery and recovery.
This will be a VERY HARD time for all of us as we prepare for whatever the outcome to all of this shall be.
And please...say a special prayer for Rebecca. She will have to have her chin STITCHED to her chest for a WEEK so her new throat will heal. This will be a very sad time for her, and I don't know how she is going to make it.
The operation is scheduled for September 14th...the five year anniversary that I learned that my dad was going to die from a blood infection from colon cancer surgery.
Jeffrey, I'll be praying for all of you. I think little Rebecca will be fine. Kids are so resilient and she is so young, that this will be just a vague memory down the line.
