Word Pictures in Songs

I was listening to KSBJ (KSBJ.org - great contemporary Christian station!) and heard Shawn Groves "Bless the Lord".  The chorus is, "Bless the Lord; Let all that's in me bless the Lord.  May kingdoms fall and rulers crawl before the throne..."  When I heard that, I had an image of Hitler, Castro, even Bush, etc. falling before the throne of God.  (And in some cases, crying out for mercy!)

What songs contain word pictures that speak to you?

Okay, here's another!

Captivate Us by Watermark

Chorus:

Captivate us, Lord Jesus
Set our eyes on You
Devastate us with Your presence
Falling down
And rushing river, draw us nearer
Holy fountain consume us with You
Captivate us Lord Jesus, with You

Don't you love that image?  Being totally devastated by the presence of God?  Totally wiped out?  I love that!!

I have always "choked up" whenever I sing "Shout to the Lord".

It's the idea of all of creation, both man and angel, united as one in praise to the Lord Jesus. No more fighting or war or sin...just praise and worship! It is a mental image that reminds me that what I see going on in the Middle East won't be going on forever.
