YOU. all you.

hey.

i'm realizing. i don't really know any of you. like know know. like a friend knows. like, what do you do to pass the days? what do you like for breakfast? what TV shows do you enjoy? who are the important people in your life? whatever you want to share with us...

i'm peggy. 27.

in grad school for chemical engineering. i'd like to get into med school.

i skipped breakfast this morning.

i'm currently hooked on smallville...to tide me over till the dvd for "queer as folk" final season comes out.

i live with my adorable housemate matt. i sometimes wish he was a girl so i'd be able to crush on him...i've tried to convince him to get a sex change but he'd hear nothing of it. and i'm not tickled over the idea of having boy parts myself. so i'll have to settle for us being housemates. and since matty is very chivalrous, i take advantage of him in arguments and tickle him until he admits i am always right. it works out well.

also, nikki, my cat keeps me very happy right now cause she is a great cuddler.

Well, I like to pass my time reading and surfing the net. I enjoy writing, cooking and photography. I had a cereal bar for breakfast. My favorite shows are CSI, MythBusters, Doctor Who and pretty much anything on LOGO and the educational channels. I will be starting work at Wal-Mart this week. I would tell you more about my past jobs within the CIA...

But then I would have to KILL YOU!!!

yay i like these threads

i am shelly aged 30, well on the outside

work at a youth emergency shelter, which provides safe shelter for kids aged 12-17, but we bend the rules sometimes and let older kids in, its to damn hard to turn them away.

i drink insane amounts of coffee, and smoke, which i should probably consider stopping, right after the next pack.

i love A&E programs, which may make me a nerd, but how else do you learn about the Myans?

my life has become wonderful, not sure who all knows, but since i met, and fell in love with jeanine, the sun sure shines more. what can i say, she has given me everything i was missing. she definately makes me whole thats the truth. i have a daughter 11, she is also the other love of my life, she reminds me that life isnt always about paying bills and being grown up 24 hours a day. i cannot wait for the day when she can be my daughter and friend.

i have 2 dogs, daisie and buster, i think they like eachother, but shhhhhh dont tell mom.

what else.........i used to write poems, and i used to draw.........i think i may be able to do those two things again.

My turn!

I'm 48, been married to a WONDERFUL man for over 25 years, have 2 AMAZING kids (Amy & Alan), and a TERRIFIC "son-in-law", Korey.

I usually skip breakfast, although I like something sweet to drink in the morning to take my meds with.

I am COMPLETELY hooked on the TV show, House.  I also like Monk, and have just fallen for Psych, which just started the other day.  The other show I always try to watch is Clean Sweep.

I am also COMPLETELY hooked on the computer.  I usually "watch" TV while playing on the computer.  Which means, sometimes I'll actually watch a commercial that I've heard 100 times, and say, "Oh, that's what they are talking about!"  I play many hours of computer games, and constantly watch this site.  (I don't always post, but I'm here frequently keeping an eye on your guys!!)

I have a HUGE heart for gay folks, and am so blessed that God has called me into ministry with your guys!  I cannot express to you how much each of you mean to me!  I really wish we could get some of our other members posting with us, so we could all get to know them a little better!

I love to read and sew, but I don't spend as much time doing either as I should.  It's hard to sew when your hands are on the keyboard!

Here goes.

I'm Darrel. I'm 23. I could pass for 30 in a heart-beat, act like a kid; yet, I feel I have the soul of a 90 yr old. (Make sense??)
I work full-time for a medical production company, which sends out dialyzers, and IV bags to people who are on dialysis. I basically help extend peoples' lives who are suffering from renal failure.
Umm...I start college full-time in less than a month. I'm really considering a double major in Microbiology and Chemistry. I want to maybe see where Micro takes me--because all in all, I wanna be an ME. A medical examiner. I'd love to do the autopsies on people, like they do on CSI...I can only dream of the day...
I've been dating a guy for almost 3 months, now. He's great. His name is David. Umm....what else?? I LOOOOOOVE horror movies! Movies that make me scream, and have tons of blood and guts, and gore, and ghosts, and zombies, and ghouls, and gremlins....etc! Also, I love movies that make you think, "What???!!" Like, 6th Sense, Memento, The Machinist (there's only a few out there). Um....I love Disney, and Pixar, and things like Toy Story, Finding Nemo....I eat all those types of movies up! I love Sister Act!!!
And, I could almost quote "Ever After" from start to finish.
I like all types of music--but am picky who the artist is. (I am NOT into Cher, Madonna, etc.) I feel like sticking a pencil in my ears whenever I have to listen to more than one song at a time....I just can't stand it. Same with techno, trance, dance, etc. I really like Eminem, Nine Inch Nails, Dixie Chicks, Default...go to Myspace page. There's a lot more music on there I like.
My view on Christianity is weird. I can't even explain it. So, I stopped trying. Talk to Phil--cuz he understands. *hugs Phil*
I plan to take ice-skating lessons again! Look for me on the ice! I love the X-Files. I can't get enough of it.
I recently visited my mom's and grandpa's gravestones, and I cried. I miss them a lot.
And, my dad is crazy, and ordered a mail-order bride from the internet, and got her pregnant....so, now my step-mom is some Phillipina woman who I think is almost younger than I am....and about to pop with a child(ren)??

I'll leave any questions to the gallery...hehehehe.

*hugs*
Darrel

You are right.. we dont know each other as well as we might think.

I am 27, I dont eat breakfast, I usually only eat lunch and dinner and maybe a snack. I do like diet coke or mountain dew in the mornings, sweet tea with lunch (no lemon!) and water at evening - TONS of water! I usually set the alarm at 6 30 AM, do whatever in the morning, then get out and feed the horses (grain and hay) and work as a mortgage consultant.. its slow right now.. :( I need MONEY!!!!!! then get back to the place (I hesistate to call it my home, because I hate it lol) change, then go out to give the horses carrots and eat dinner at my moms house (ugh) and watch andy griffeth then go and feed the horses their dinner and get back to the place. Next day REPEAT.

I am single. :(

I really dislike weekends for a great while now because it just reminds me of so many hurtful things so I like to try stay busy and look forward to Monday. I really do want to move away from here (GA) because I have learned who I should be, and where I want to be. (and belong!) I want to go back to college and pursue degree and have a career other than accounting which I lost my job to in April 2005.

Mama and Papa? hmm are they my momma and poppa? LOL They are cool folks.

Chad

Hey!

I'm Katie. I'm 18 years old. I can't believe that I am 18 years old. When I turned 18 years old last December, I actually wanted to be 16 years old because I was much more naive. But that's okay because I am so excited to start my life soon. *grins*

I'm profoundly Deaf. When I grew up in a deaf insisution, I am been very exposed to a rich lingustic enivornment that supports ASL(American Sign Language) as a primary language.  So I could say I'm fluent in ASL, though I'm a lazy signer. But I'm been around a lot, been there in deaf world. It is a BIG difference between hearing world and deaf world. We have our culture, our values and our ideas. And we value our language a lot. If you are interested in deaf culture, let me know. *cheesy smile*

I just graduated from Ernest.C.Secondary School for the Deaf in Milton, Ontario which is about 20/30 mintues away from Toronto. I got accepted at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. I am going to move there in Aug and live in a dorm for 4 months or so. I'm excited because it is new begninning of my life for me. I'll be back to Canada for the Christmas hoilday. I am going to take general courses in my first year, but I always want to be a teacher for the Deaf. So that's what I am going to do next four years at Gally.

Yep, I like to eat breakfast. At school I usually eat cereals and toasts. But when I'm home, I usually don't eat. But when I do, I like a real meal. Yummy. Eggs, bacon, homemade potoatoes, and toasts. Maybe I jsut should do it tomorrow! Lol...

I don't watch T.V much when I'm home because I'm an addict to the internet. I love internet a lot. But when I do watch T.V, I usually watch Desperate Housewives, and CSI. And I really love movies. We just got the satellite a few days ago, now there are great movies are on...Yay! I'm been watching T.V more. *smile*

Oh yeah, I like a lot of things. I really do. I'm a naturally curious person, I look for anything that interests me in the world. I do a bit of everything really. I read and write. I write poems and journals. I do photography. And I even draw! I am been told that I'm talented, but I don't know...  I watch movies. I spend time with God. And I'm trying to experience new things.  *smile*

I love my mom in the whole wide world! She's my hero. She does soooo much for me. She really loves me. I thank God for her too. And I've been talking to the most wonderful girl in the world. Her name should be nameless, for now. But she's from GCN. And past six month, we've been growing together. It's amazing because she's everything I found in a lover. But now we need obstacles to work out, and if it does, I hope that we will be together one day.

So yeah. I think it's done for now. I'm tired. And I'm overheated. Darn for hot humid summers!! Lol...

Later,

Katie

Hello Fuscia:

Most everything about me is in the Hello section here on TSA which I posted a few months back.  As far as video's go, I love Bullwinkle/Rocky, Warner Brothers Cartoons, mainstream and sometimes obscure Gay movies, 1960 MGM Movies (Auntie Mame, What a Way to Go) and comedy's of which Airplane is my ultimate fav.  I currently have a serious committed relationship with a guy I met last year in November, and we have been dating ever since (except for a 2 month departure, when he tried to work on his issues).  This week we committed to each other and want to not only live together but ultimately have a holy union.

I love food period.  Especially White Castle in Chicago, Gino's Pizza Chicago, Portillos Hotdogs and Beef Chicago  (which opened it's one and only store west of Chicago in Buena Park close to me yeah.....)   I love Chinese food, and a local buffet with 130 items is just wonderful....

Anyway, nice to get to know you!

Best Regards from SoCal

Dave

Hello everyone, this was a great idea Peggy

I'm 27, a grad-student at the Houston medical center. I tend to complain about being at work all day but I love it, I make my own day and plenty of coffee breaks. I like to cook but I don't do it very often, I usually have a lot of cleaning to do afterwords. My best are Brisket, "Mole", and I cook a good turkey too. I love to go bowling (not good at all), love movies (all types), and talking with friends holding a cup of hot coco or coffee is time well spent. I normally don't eat breakfast unless it is ihop at 2am.

Currently making the switch from mega church Lakewood to Community Gospel Church and I think I like it.

I actually just finished watching the last season of Queer as folk, it was very good. Desperate Housewives would be my favorite show at the moment, other than that I love to see old show re-runs, Roseanne, Cosby show, Fresh prince of Ballier.

I just came out about 9 months ago and I guess I feel a bit lost and alone, but things are getting better, I can now picture a future in my life (His name is Steve Sandvoss, any moment now he will realize he is gay and has a thing for chubby mexicans).

awwww dave that's grrrreat!! how'd you guys meet? who approached who? feel free to tell me it's none of my business.

shouts out vic! i've seen you around here and there. never actually been there with ya. what's your research on?

anyone got any favorite jokes? my absolute fav...

A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak. After mass, he asked the monsignor how he had performed. The monsignor replied, "When I am concerned about becoming nervous on the pulpit, I simply pour vodka into my water glass. If I start to feel nervous, I take a sip."

The following Sunday the priest took the monsignor's advice. At the beginning of the sermon, the priest became nervous and took a drink, after which he proceeded to deliver a stirring sermon.

Upon his return to his office after mass, the priest found the following note from the monsignor:

1. Sip the vodka, don't chug it.
2. There are 10 commandments, not 12.
3. There are 12 disciples, not 10.
4. Jesus was consecrated; he was not constipated.
5. Jacob wagered his donkey; he did not bet his ass.
6. We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.
7. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Daddy, Junior and the Spook.
8. David slew Goliath; he did not kick the **** out of him.
9. When David was hit by a rock and knocked off his donkey, we don't preach that he was stoned off his ass.
10. We never refer to the cross as the "Big T."
11. The Virgin Mary is not called "Mary with the Cherry."
12. Next Sunday there will be a taffy pulling contest at St. Peter's, not a peter pulling contest at St. Taffy's.

---
and...

The Dictionary: what engineers say and what they mean by it

1. A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT APPROACHES ARE BEING TRIED - We are still pissing in the wind.
2. EXTENSIVE REPORT IS BEING PREPARED ON A FRESH APPROACH TO THE PROBLEM - We just hired three kids fresh out of college.
3. CLOSE PROJECT COORDINATION - We know who to blame.
4. PRELIMINARY OPERATIONAL TESTS WERE INCONCLUSIVE - The darn thing blew up when we threw the switch.
5. TEST RESULTS WERE EXTREMELY GRATIFYING - We are so surprised that the stupid thing works.
6. PLEASE NOTE AND INITIAL - Let's spread the responsibility for the screw up.
7. SEE ME or LET'S DISCUSS - Come into my office, I'm lonely.
8. YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT - One finally worked.
9. ENERGY SAVING - Achieved when the power switch is off.
10. LOW MAINTENANCE - Impossible to fix if broken.

So, what is my research on or What do I actually do all day?, well I stare at gonads and embryos all day. Who's gonads and embryos, a little worm called C. elegans. Our lab studies the uptake of cells that have died. Your white blood cells are replaced every month so there must be a mechanism to detect them and dispose them. Many of the proteins in C. elegans are also found in humans, so our research will some day help cancer research. You can think of cancer cells as a group of cells that don't know when to die. A lot of cells die in the gonad and embryo stage of the worm so it is a good place to look, hens the staring. It is funny that in the lab we say words in public that other people may think of twice, like gonad, vulva, sperm. I am particularly interested in finding the direct interaction between a dead cell and the cell that is eating it.

Well if you must know (you must you must) We were introduced by a friend. We spent about 8 weeks dating before Christmas.  He then told me that he needed his "space".  I was reading Brennan Manning (Abba's Child) and there was a concept that if one does not love himself, he cannot accept the love of God much less the love of others.  Jose was going through such a time.  He had to get things right in his life.  I thought the relationship was over and (although went through the usual denial, stress, blame, and all the other emotions that go through a breakup) I wrote him a final email, told him he helped me come out of my shell, and show my emotions as well as be happy with myself.  Also for me to not feel ashamed of my relationship and showing affection in public.  I thanked God for him.  As it is said, God brings persons into our lives for a moment, a minute, an hour or a season.  That person is there for support, or when we really need someone to help us along the way.  Then in February, he called me.  He was afraid that I would tell him off, and all, but I still had deep feelings for him.  He told me he wanted to start dating again.... so we did..... and the rest is now history.  We have committed our love for each other, and want to live together, but we still want to take it slow.  And there you have it

Regards

Dave
