Lately, I'm having such vivid nightmares. I wake up in cold-sweats, I'm yelling, I'm crying--and they're just getting worse.
There's so much pain, and gore, and mutilation, and senseless violence--just everything I'm not, and I don't know what's causing it to happen.
Please send up your prayers. I'm starting to not want to sleep...
God bless. *christian hugs* Darrel

My buddy Darrel is having bad dreams that are so gruesome that he is having a hard time getting rest. He is under attack from the enemy of his soul. He is walking in Your will, and the devil is trying to get a stronghold within his life by attacking his dreams. Send him your angels to guard his bed and give him rest. Let the Holy Spirit fill his mind with Your words of peace and comfort. Let him find beautiful music that will soothe and uplift him. Replace the enemy's fear with Your endless joy and love. For in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
May God bless you with the peace that passes all understanding!
Hmm... I seem to remember going through a similar time in my life... it was when I was a Freshman in college. I was having horrible and violent dreams, so bloody, so frightening.
I realized there were several things going on. First of all, I was just stressed out in general, and I wasn't eating well. That alone can lead to strange dreams and nightmares. Another thing that contributed was what I made a habit of watching-- graphically violent horror movies. The college movie channel I got in my dorm room was showing several that I really enjoyed, and watched frequently-- almost every day I was watching these things.
Now darrel... heheh... I know for a fact you're a busy man. Sounds like it could be stressful? And um I hesitate to point fingers, but I've seen some screen shots of those scary PS2 games you've been playing recently, and I couldn't even look at the screen shots without being frightened. So, maybe it's time to scale it back with those horror games?
And try not to eat anything right before you go to sleep-- ESPECIALLY anything spicy.

Prayers for you that you get some rest. Don't stress on the gore, violence etc and realize that it is a part of life and that we all are exposed to it.
I suffered from the same nighttime affliction, until one night I prayed for God to give me the ability to pray while in my sleep and dreaming..
Then one night, the nightmares came in full force and I was given the strength to rebuke them in the name of Jesus - while I was still in the nightmare.. the nightmares stopped and I haven't had a single one in nearly 15 years..
It also helps if your waking life is scary enough as it is hehe
Pray for God to give you strength in the midst of the trial. Though change in diet does help. In my case I wouldn't have nightmares, just bizarre vivid ones like being chased by a roast chicken
I will definitely be praying for you to get some peaceful sleep. I know that a lot is going on in your life, I pray that things will calm down some for you and that you get some decent rest.
