TSA 2006-2007 Gathering

I want to throw this idea out in the air. I know many of us are financially strapped, and there are several things bogging us down, which would prohibit us from doing this anytime soon--HOWEVER:

It still crosses my mind that 2007 would be a good year to maybe plan a get-together for a couple of days. Tell me what you guys think.
I'm open for suggestions/activities/places/lodging....you name it. Even for a time frame!

Thank you all for your input. I want to make this happen.
God bless you all.
Darrel

We would love it if you guys could come to Houston.  If that is totally out of the question, maybe we can find a place somewhere more centrally located.  But Teddy & I are definitely in favor!!

Funny, I brought this up in the chat a few nights ago.

Anyway, the people who were in there all said no because of money.

The problem is that everyone is everywhere. No one is in the same place.

Exactly my point...that's why I want everyone to have adequate time to possibly save up, and plan on something for the future. If all else fails--we could have a phone conference...????

*shrugs* I'd be glad to make it to Houston, again. That's just me, tho. Or, perhaps we could do it in NC, since quite a few members are around the Eastern side???

I would be interested in a TSA Gathering.  At some point, I believe it not only will happen, but it should happen.

I'm up for going to Texas, because there's Sea World, and Six Flags!!!! And a beach!!! WOOOOOO! lol.

Why don't all you guys come up here to Kentucky?

We have Cumberland Falls, Churchill Downs, the Newport Aquarium, Old Fort Harrod, Burnheim Forrest, Levi Jackson State Park, Natural Bridge and LOTS more of beautiful places to visit!

Did I forget to mention Kentucky Kingdom...with rollercoasters...and thrill rides...and a water park?

What if we pooled our resources and rented a beach house or two somewhere?

How many of us are there?

That's a good question. How many of us actually can go if we planned something next year? I know none of us can foresee the future--anyway, you could count me in, though. :)

I also think Ky is pretty central, and has lots of really pretty lakes/mountains/state parks/caves/amusement parks.

It's not very friendly to gay people, but if we're all out on a pontoon boat having a picnic on the water, it doesn't matter what other people think.

I'm going to keep my ears open on this meeting concept, but I'm not sure I'll be able to go, for financial reasons (and I have to practice every day).

Why is Nashville fun?

(I'm not being belligerent; it's just I didn't have much fun when I was there)

I guess I should confess that the last time I went, I was about 10 or so, which automatically means nothing was fun that didn't involve waterslides or video games.

Tennessee has PLENTY of great places to visit!

Gatlinburg - Lots of great stores, arcades, restaurants and fun things to do!

Dollywood - Great rides! Plus we might see Miss Parton herself!

Nashville - The Grand Old Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame! (plus I hear that there is a growing gay scene there!)

Great Smokey Mountains - BEAUTIFUL! My family used to vacation there and climb to the top of Clingman's Dome and be able to see 3 states from there!

Opryland - Lots of rides and stores! It's like a cross between Dollywood and Gatlinburg!

It really doesn't matter which place you choose to go to me...I just spent next month's birthday money on a new digital camera, so now I am REALLY BROKE! HA! HA!

*bump*

I like Jeanine's idea of renting out a house, or if we choose to go to a theme-park, or a certain area....some hotel rooms.

Umm...first thing is first, though. I still know it is far off in the future--but, if it's something you want to do, then let's go for it. We need to narrow down the choices as to what we all want to do--so when the time comes--we could all take a group vote where we want to head out to. :)

God bless!

Ok Sweden might be a bit far.. how about New York?

I would suggest DC, but any gay man that comes to DC is infected with the "DC Disease" and the gathering would instantly cease to exist, and I wouldn't want that :(

Amy's led a sheltered life!  You know Branson!  All the country stars play there!

I like Jeffrey's idea of Nashville.  It's kind of centrally located.  Sort of.

Do you guys want to meet when it's warm and sunny, or cold and snowy? Remember to weigh the pros and cons of each climate.

There are no pros to "cold and snowy"... other than getting to wear fabulous clothes.
