RE: my Dad's Health concern

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the wonderful miracles that You are working within Jay's dad's health! Please continue to make him better! Let these test results come back okay. We would love to see Jay's family receive the beautiful Christmas present of good health this year. Be with them and continue to bless them with life and love throughout the holidays.

For in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Have a wonderful Christmastime, Jay!!!

HEALTH UPDATE-March 5, 2007

On Thursday March 1st-
a major heart attack, and also the 5 new stints had blocked rapidly. He had very high blood pressure and low respirations just prior to the repeat catheterization procedure during which his heart slowed, paused and stopped briefly. They had to put him on a respirator also to assist his breathing, etc.

The doctor says this is once again a "snowball" type effect where one problem added to another only makes recovery
that much more difficult.
Dad is still NOT breathing on his own at this hour
.........
===============================================================

FRIDAY March 2nd Night Update
--Sometime after 8:15 PM Thurs. night Doctors & Medical staff were able to remove Dad from the respirator.
He has made very slow progress today {Friday} but since there's little else to be done for him at this point- Doctors' are deciding if he can come home with Home Health Aides or some other arrangement over the weekend.
He is NOT a good patient--very very impatient perhaps not even realizing just how severe his attack was.

====================================================

SATURDAY March 3rd UPDATE:

He is in very SERIOUS condition tonight--
My Dad had a very serious down overnight last night and during the day today. He seems to be in a period of respiratory failure and since he's struggling so hard to breathe, they also say he's quite likely to have another serious cardiac event.

So, after much thought and consideration my Mom and I once again have placed in the care of our local Hospice group {a Unit in the same hospital- where he was admitted on Thursday after suffering the heart attack}
where some of the same nurses and aides might be caring for once him again.

A GOAL that Mom and I have is: IF at possible is for Dad to come home at some point once he is more stable- if his final days are coming.
========================================================

SUNDAY March 4th Evening UPDATE

Bed space was NOT available in the Hospice {at the Hospital's unit} so Dad was placed at their "House".
It's a excellent facility with individualized care that he needs now.

MONDAY MARCH 12TH AT 3:45 PM
He was called home to be with Lord Jesus and now My Father's suffering has ended and so has almost year-long struggle with lung cancer & more recently heart disease.

These are the lyrics from one song that might be played at my Dad's service.

Lyrics :: NO MORE NIGHT
From the album David Phelps - Self Titled
NOTES:
© 1984 Word Music (ASCAP)
LYRIC:
Words & music by Walt Harrah

The timeless theme, Earth and Heaven will pass away.
It’s not a dream, God will make all things new that day.
Gone is the curse from which I stumbled and fell.
Evil is banished to eternal hell.

No more night. No more pain.
No more tears. Never crying again.
And praises to the great "I AM."
We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.

See all around, now the nations bow down to sing.
The only sound is the praises to Christ, our King.
Slowly the names from the book are read.
I know the King, so there’s no need to dread.

No more night. No more pain.
No more tears. Never crying again.
And praises to the great "I AM."
We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.

See over there, there’s a mansion, oh, that’s prepared just for me,
Where I will live with my savior eternally.

No more night. No more pain.
No more tears. Never crying again.
And praises to the great "I AM."
We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.

All praises to the great "I AM."
We’re gonna live in the light of the risen Lamb.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.  I know that in a way it is a relief that your dad's suffering has come to an end, and that he is now walking the streets of glory without any pain.

My prayers go out to you and your mom.

Dear Jay,

I am so sorry to hear about your daddy. I know how bad I felt the day when mine passed away. When I got home from the Louisville hospital, I went into the backyard, put my favorite praise and worship cd in my player, and praised God for all that he has done for me and my family as we all went through this...all the while, tears were falling down my face in rivers. I can't fathom your pain, but I have been there. It hurts. It REALLY hurts! But I want you to know that the same God that was there for me, is right there with you and your mom, guiding you through these "dark waters" that will sometimes appear to flood over you. His grace is sufficient to bring your whole family through. The Good Book even says that He will even put your tears in a bottle, they are so precious to Him. Comfort yourselves in the truth that BOTH our dads are now within His presence...away from all evil and pain...

...beholding Him...

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please bring comfort to Jay and his family as they undergo this. Let Your love and peace flow through their house. Send angels to help them through their hour of grief, reminding them that it's okay to cry and mourn, but not without hope because they WILL see their beloved patriarch once again. And on that day there will be no more tears shed within this family... except for, of course, tears of neverending joy happiness. Let them bring out their family albums and scrapbooks, recalling the wonderful times that they had together. May their pain be turned to laughter; may their sobs be turned to hugs. For in Jesus' sweet name I pray. Amen.

The Lord be with you all, my brother!

Jeffrey
