This has been a tough week.  Between California upholding Prop. 8, and the Methodist church not passing Amendment 1, which would have been nothing more than a step towards changing the wording in the Methodist Book of Discipline to be more inclusive, I really feel that the gay community has been pushed a little farther into the margins.  But this week has also shown me that I can't sit idly by any longer.  I don't know what to do, but I will be involved in some organization somewhere that is working for change.  Your input on this is very welcome!

Other than that, the house is still torn up, and my job is still stressful.  Basically, I'm feeling tired, overwhelmed, frustrated, and even lonely.

On that note, have a good day! wink

I, too, was very wrought with the courts upholding Prop. 8. However, they did say that those gays that did get married before Prop. 8 happened would STILL hold their legal status...which, to me, makes no sense! Either we are allowed to marry, or not. You can't be for one gay marriage, and against another. Fortunately, Iowa now allows gay marriage. Why did the "blue" state of California go against gay marriage, and the almost always "red" state of Iowa went for it? Personally, I think that it had to do with something that I saw on LOGO on night about gay farmers and cowboys. One cowboy said that when his once anti-gay neighbors and townsfolk saw how hard he worked to keep his farm going, even in such hard times, and with attacks on his farm from "haters", they all changed their minds about him and gays in general. (That, and how most Iowans didn't like having most Republicans, like Guiliani, didn't even bother coming to their state when they campaigned last year.) Which, just goes to show you that the only way that we're going to win this war is by continuing to change people's hearts and minds one person at a time. Which is why Dobson and his fellow IDIOTS keep on LYING about our gay "agenda" with that stupid Miss California beauty pageant (SORE) LOSER, continuing to cry "discrimination" while THEY keep on attacking US in places like the military where, it seems, more and more of the military establishment is coming out (some in more ways than one) in favor for gays to serve openly.

Why do I keep on getting that Prejean woman mixed up with that teen beauty contestant that said that the reason why so many kids in America are failing in school is because of a lack of maps? Oh yeah...that's right...

BECAUSE THEY'RE BOTH COMPLETE MORONS!!! hmm.gif

Anyway, I hope that you and Teddy both have a better week next week, and that your home restoration goes smoothly. smile.gif
