The differences in the four gospels can be attributed to the standpoints that the four authors had and their character. Mark's gospel is like a Michael Bay's version of the Jesus story, with lots of action and, like in "Transformers", not much "story" (it's the shortest of the four). Luke was a Gentile physician, so his version has lots of healing miracles and their significances. He was trying to convey to his Gentile audience the meaning of the temple's veil being torn MORE than Jesus' actual death. Since the veil symbolized the separation of man from God because of sin, the tearing of it meant that God and man are now free to have fellowship with each other.
