Laptop or desktop?

I have been doing some window shopping about computers and I would like to know which is better:

Getting a laptop PC, or a desktop? What are the pros and cons of both?

A desktop doesn't fit in your brief case?

If you don't have the need to travel with your computer, I would get a PC. You can get a computer that has a lot more for the price when you get a PC vs. a laptop. But if you need to travel around and use it, maybe at an internet cafe, then a laptop is what you want. Just make sure it has a wirless card built in.
Good luck

Well...if you don't go out a lot, and you intend not to,a pc is perfect. A pc is perfect specially if you don't use it a lot and you can't beat the prices. You can get a pc for as little as $400. I've seen some for $350! But I have yet to find a good laptop that is cheap. Most I see run from $800-$1200. So if it is a matter of budget, a pc is the thing to get. NOW...if you can get a refurbished laptop (which means it was preowned, but they rebuilt it like new) it can knock off like $200. Try looking at tigerdirect.com. Acers are very nice computers. I've had one for over 2 years and I love it smile.gif. Oh sorry, lol. I hope I helped. If I were you...I would get a refurbished laptop,...but make sure it's from a trustworthy place. You don't want to be scammed. I hope I helped some. Good luck Jeffery smile.gif

BIG P.S.....DO NOT GET A COMPUTER WITH VISTA. They have canceled the process of developing it and therefore, all products that come out now will not be compatible with vista,...and that will be a nightmare lol. Here are some good deals on laptops I found

I have decided to get a PC for $300. Laptops are just not good when it comes to getting an upgrade.

Also, the PC I plan on getting has XP and NOT Vista.

Devil...thy name be VISTA!!! devilish.gif

Vista is okay...but ONLY WHEN IT WORKS!!!

Believe it or not, Microsoft is supposed to come out with a WHOLE NEW OPERATING SYSTEM next year to replace Vista!

Let us pray that THIS time, they get the job done RIGHT! pray.gif
