Did anybody see these movies? I watched the first one several years ago, and the second one today. Very bloody & graphic. What caused the virus in the first place?

I have heard of it...but I have never actually seen them I believe. Something about zombies,right? And about the virus...probably like all the other movies,some place harnesses a virus that is believed to be good and turns out it is bad...becomes air-borne or something...and spreads like crazy. What scares me...is this could really happen if we are not careful. For instance, what if AIDS became air-borne? If it were somehow able to become immune to oxygen, it probably would...and the whole population of the earth could be gone within a matter of 40 years. It's a scary thought
I LOVE those movies! What caused the virus was in the first movie when animal activists were trying to set free monkey's from a lab. The the scientist told them that the monkeys were infected with "rage." They never explained what this "rage" virus was, but it appears, from the short shots in the opening scenes, that the moneky were exposed to violent, graphic and bloody footage combined with mutated blood that made them go crazy.
When they bit anyone the virus was instantly passed on within seconds. The people were never zombies so to speak, they just went into a mad rage. But it was zombie like rage.
I love that movie! I didn't think the 2nd one would be better, but it was still very good. I just can't stand to watch the eye gouging scene!

I HATED I Am Legend. The book that was written in the 50s was much better than this 3rd attempt at making this movie! The third remake and they still can't get it right!
