I was talking on the phone with my sister and she asked what I was doing. I was happy to answer that I was actually working and not on my 2 hr lunch or one of 30-40min coffee breaks (on average). Any how, I told her what I was doing and she made a yuck sound. So what is your day like at work?
There are two extremes/sides to my work: 1. placing product orders- shopping for chemicals or equipment, talking with people on phone, filing records (a lot of office stuff) the other side would be: 2. Making 6 liters of gelatin (agar) on which I can grow bacteria (e.coli) to feed my worms, or cool stuff like using radiation.
sometimes I feel like shopping and sometimes I feel like feeding my worms.
My day involves a long drive to & from work. (average: 70 minutes each way!) Then a long walk up to my office, where I answer emails, answer the phone, return voice mail messages, type, organize, type some more, and general take care of all the clerical stuff here. I work for the youth director (a 28 year old man), and have 2 female coworkers & one male coworker. On some, I use that term coWORKER loosely!!
Oh, and somewhere in between all that typing is lunch. Fortunately, I don't have to watch the clock either, so my lunches have sometimes been very long!!
