Good morning, my little chickadees!!  We woke up to rain here in Houston.  I think it's the leading edge of a cold front!  That's fine by me - 70 is just a little too warm for Christmas!!!

Today is just housework & tinkering.  Oh, and laundry.  Yippee.  Tomorrow we'll have to go to the grocery store along with everyone else on this side of Houston!  More Yippee.

I have a feeling the site is going to be quiet for a few days.  I know Victor is traveling, David's working his tail off, and Jerry is in North Carolina visiting family.  But if you are around, be sure to check in & let us know what's up!!

Well I did make it home but I was worried for a while. When I was driving by Ozona (around 400mls into the 800ml trip) my car started to overheat. I could see the temperature going up, I turned my heater to full blast and it went back to normal then after another 200 mls it started to heat up again. I had to pull over about 4 times for the car to cool down. I think it was at this very moment the thought came to me "its going to be expensive" when the car heats up when driving 65 mph but cools down when costing at 15 mph (has to do with the engine and not the cooling system). And guess what? I was right on, my engine has water in it. Mechanic thinks water from the cooling system is leaking into the engine so needs new packings/seals ???. The 4 times I pulled over where near the I-10 and I-20 junctions which is as "middle of no where" as you can get. Well what can I say, 2.5 yrs and 40,000mls later (original cost of car 4,500), I guess a $700 upgrade/patch is in order. It will be my christmas present from my mom, she's picking up the tab. Any how, I am home. Sad to say the car will be fixed in time to go back home as scheduled :( I could have used extra time off. Any way I hope you all have a great christmas :P

It's kind of warm here too Lisa. The rain didn't hit us until about 5pm here. Also Victor..too bad you don't live here. The guy we are renting a house to owns a car shop and once he fixed mario's (the illegal alien) transmission for only $800! It would normally have cost $1500-$2000. So,I'm sure he would have done it for cheaper if you lived here and know us lol. The bad thing is when you give him the car...you won't have it back for like 2 weeks because full paying customers come first lol. Anyways..I'm reading a Harlan Coben booked called "Promise Me". I can't stop reading it! I should have it done by tonight...then,on to another book lol. I'm trying to read a lot because when school starts I won't be able to read what I want. Well...about to start reading again. Have a great night!!

We had a great night!  We met my sister & her husband, and 3 of her 4 kids plus one spouse, and my step brother & his wife at Ninfa's for Mexican food and margaritas.  Then Teddy, Alan, Korey, Amy & me went to Salud Winery for a while.  I've had WAY too much to drink, but it was an awesome night!!  I haven't seen my sister since last Christmas day, and my step brother since my dad's funeral a year ago today.  (I just realized today was the anniversary of the funeral.)  My sister made us scrap books full of pictures from my parents.  It is precious.

With so much alcohol in me, I'll probably never get to sleep!  (By the way, you should have seen how many times I had to backspace & correct what I typed!!)
