Hello everyone, I would like to ask for prayer for my sister Patty. She has been married close to 20 yrs and the last 5 have been the worst.
My sister is so amazing, having energy keep up with a home with 5 kids and a husband that feels he doesn't have any duties at home because he works, she volunteers at the school my young niece and nephew attend (last yr they didn't have a basket ball or cheerleader coach so she did both), recently got her GED, and does all kinds of extra work like catering for large parties for extra income.
Well in a few words her husband is so controlling that he tries to keep her from doing things like the ones I mentioned above. She was getting ready to enroll in school for a nursing program but again her husband didn't approve. He actually doesn't like the kids (ages 5-16) to go out and play with friends even, they should just stay home. I think the last straw for my sister was when he started to become verbally abusive with my nieces and nephew.
She started the divorce process about 1 yr ago but had to stop because she didn't have the money to continue and he did (being the only one that is allowed to have a job). This time she is using government programs and assistance so it looks like it will happen this time. Her first court date will be on Nov. 15.
