I think everyone in their life has had atleast one teacher that they will always remember. Who is it for you and why?
Mine, hands down, is Mr. McCardle. I had him my senior year of high school for English. I remember the first day we walked into class.. you know how teachers write their name on the board? Well, his read, "Mr. McCardle, (aka T-Mac)" He was such a fun guy. He loved to pick on people, but in that good way.. whenever he would hear someone call someone a name (example- girl in class had the habit of calling people 'gay') he would get real serious and say "no.. dont not say that. You might not say that, but someone in here might be.. blah blah blah" Every Monday he would go around the room and ask us for our "weekend stories". I still remember the first time I drive to Austin by myself.. my parents didn't care. They were kinda like "ok, call when you get there" but when I said I went there, alone he gave me this big long lecture about safe traveling and crap like that. But aside from his fun side, he knew how to teach. He knew how to get kids to pay attention. I've never liked reading a book. Still don't. But I can remember WANTING to read the books he made us read. He would analyze everything in class and would really make you think. He was so passionate about what he did and I think THAT is what makes a GREAT teacher.
I am friends with him on myspace and we still keep in touch. Below is a picture of him..
(btw, this is a comment he left a friend of mine (who is extremely gothic)that shows the way he is.. "Well, my dark is a picture of Harry Potter. Your idea is a woman with a stake stuck through her ass up out her mouth. I dig it though.")
You make us sound like such wonderful, caring parents!!
My favorite teacher was my 8th grade science teacher named Mrs. Pryor. Can't really remember anything she taught, but she was a fun teacher. She loved to have you write "I will not talk in class" hundreds of times if she caught you talking. We would all pitch in and write pages for people. One time, someone had an abundance of "I will not sing in class" pages, so when she caught me talking, I piped up and said, "But I was singing!" It worked.
Some of us used to go eat our lunch with her in her class room. She was just a great person. Imagine my shock when I got to high school and there she was. We both just looked at each other and cracked up!

Hm...it's a tough one. I would have to say..my Calculus teacher Mrs. Storey. I was always good at math..but never really enjoyed it. But,with her encouragement and seeing how she enjoyed it so much...I researched and could see why. Math is almost why life is possible. I mean, without math... we would be way behind in technology. So,she helped me love Calculus so much. It's actually fun t o me sometimes, lol.
