That is what the church told me today. This evening, I was called by one of the pastors and told me that my false views are not welcomed and there is no such thing as being a gay Christian. He said calling oneself gay and Christian is like someone saying they are a drug addict Christian or drunkard Christian or a Mormon Christian. Can you believe that? Of course he went on to say "but don't stop coming, we love you and we want to see you turn out the way God wants to love you". I didn't respond or say anything. I merely just said "okay" after everything he said. And when he was through talking, we hung up. Its funny how he can be so mean and yet still try to be inviting in the end right after he hurts my feelings. Another rejection from so called "Christians".

I am so sorry, Steve. Let me assure you that you ARE a TRUE Christian, and we know how much you want to serve Jesus in love. This "preacher" obviously doesn't know the Bible. Even if you could become "straight", God doesn't wait until you do it FIRST and THEN He loves you; He loves you FIRST and THEN, if it's His will for you to become straight, He changes your heart and gay desires from the INSIDE OUT by the power and influence of the Holy Spirit...NOT from the "threats" of a scary scatter-brained church pastor!
Do you want some scripture to show him this truth? "And this is love, not that we loved Him, but that He first loved us, and gave up His only Son as the sacrifice for our sins." I John 4:10, my own translation and emphasis added.
God loves you just the way you are! I have seen too much of His goodness and grace in my own life to believe otherwise. Your pastor sounds like a cult leader; just like a cultist, he's more interested in you being a member of his church than what God has PLAINLY written within His word. This is what John was trying to teach the church within this very epistle: TRUE CHRISTIANS have the Holy Spirit within them that alerts them when they're being sold a bunch of UNHOLY spiritual "bunk". How did you know that this pastor was LYING to you? Because the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, lives within your heart and is making you over into the image of Christ...and that does NOT mean that God is going to make you into a heterosexual.
If God wants you to become straight, you will start not liking other gay men; your desires will begin to change for female companionship. Yes, this can and does happen SOMETIMES, but not always. And THAT, I believe is the problem with today's church: it is HOOKED on "miracles" and wants God to perform "signs" that are only suited to what THEY want HIM to do. As Jesus said to the Pharisees that kept bugging Him for a sign of his Messiahship, "An ADULTEROUS generation seeks after a sign."
Hypocrites always seek after "the Hand of God"...but they NEVER want to see His FACE! Why? Because they know that He wouldn't be approving of the spirit that they have within THEIR hearts!

Okay, now to put that loving picture aside to focus on how mad & upset I am about what that idiot said to you!! Like I told you yesterday, it makes me think of WWJD. And Jesus wouldn't and doesn't put conditions on His love for us! He loves you just exactly as you are! And the funny thing is, He loves me just as I am, too! What an amazing God!!
Keep that picture in your mind - not of close-minded, ignorant "Christians".

Steve, tell them this. You can be a drug addict Christian, or an alcoholic Christian, a hooker Christian, a gang-banger Christian, a SERIAL KILLER Christian!!!
Because God realizes that it is impossible for us to be perfect as a Christian ought to be, but instead impunes perfection upon us through the Blood of Christ.
Too bad they forgot this and a very imperfect Christian has to remind them.
