New job

I really need a new job

I've been at the same place for over 3 years and things have rapidly deteriorated there.

Today was a prime example of the level of incompetence I have to deal with from my superiors.

Today at work I was told to "fix" the .htaccess files. Then I get an email from the same boss who tells me to "disable" them instead (they can't be disabled, they're files, you either edit them or delete them altogether), so I called Tech Support to help me have them deleted.

Then she yells at me on the phone for a good 30 minutes for deleting them, and she puts them back.

Then she yells at me on the phone later for the .htaccess files that she put back "breaking the site" that I was trying to fix in the first place

So I just walk out. I had enough. I went to the gym for a few hours.

I come back and it turns out that not only did she put the broken .htaccess files back ontgo the live site, but then she is so mad at my "not fixing the site" that she has one of the system administrators make her a user onto my local machine so she can get the "corrected files" (which are the exact same files as the one live in the first place), but of course she can't find them so she yells at THIS GUY for not being able to find them and for not finding me.

So I return and I subsequently email the exact same files that she not only put up there but the ones she claimed she couldn't find that she put up there earlier that day that were the source of the original problem.

If this were an isolated incident it would be different, but this is quite often the case. She once claimed to be an Oracle DBA and yet had no idea how to set up a relational database even in Access; she has them buying sharing hosting services that do not give command-line access required for accessing sites and yet expects me to magically be able to find them and fix them w/o the required command-line access

3 years of this, people

OK, so as to not sound like I'm not thankful this TG, I am awaiting the paperwork for an offer letter for A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phil

I once had a job that I walked out on.  We got a new district manager and she was the district manager from hell.  Finally once she came down and we got into it.  I took out the keys, threw it at her and told her to you know what, take these days and shove it up your #*%%&@!(#@!##! because I don't need this job you #&$^!@!

Ah yes, it felt good to walk all over her and walk out.  Besides, I had another job at the time anyway....

I hope you get another job offer Phil!!!!

I hope you find a new job too, Phil!  Some place that recognizes your skill.

Lost in translation.. perhaps I should say it in Swedish instead:

Jag skall ha ett andra jobb!!!

In other words, the offer letter and paperwork for this other job that I interviewed for a month ago is coming soon and then once I sign it I start my new job
