A couple of prayer requests here. First, I spent all afternoon & evening at the emergency room with Teddy's mom, Mammaws. She has diverticulitis (sp?) and was in severe pain. When we got there she was running fever and had had chills for a couple of days. They gave her IV antibiotics & some stuff for the pain. They admitted her, at least for tonight, and will decide tomorrow if she needs surgery. Please pray for healing.
When I got home, there was a message from my sister-in-law saying something was up with my dad. Daddy was complaining about pain in his back. About 3 weeks ago, he rolled over in bed & broke his collar bone. His arm has been in a sling all this time, but that hasn't really slowed him down. He wouldn't go to the doctor or emergency room, and my brother thinks he may have just been overly stressed. My mom has Alzheimers, and Daddy has been completely taking care of her for the last few years. Now they have a visiting nurse that comes in 3 times a week & helps, but Daddy still does too much himself. I think he's finally seeing that it's time to move Granny somewhere safe.
Teddy is gone to a men's retreat until Sunday (unless an emergency arises) and Alan & Korey leave on Sunday on a cruise with Jason & deMarco. Sad, I know. But I'm feeling a little over whelmed right now. Please pray for us all!!

Please help out the Lett Family as they try to take care of their loved ones. Make Mammaw and Lisa's dad feel better, and heal them of their infirmities. Bless them with the gift of good health. Let them know in some special way that you are there for them. Let Jason and Demarco and Alan and Korey have safe passage as they go on their cruise. Bless them with a good time. Take away Lisa's and Teddy's fears as they are concerned with so much going on in their lives. Show them that NOTHING happens without You making provision for them. For in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Thanks, guys, for your prayers. The 8:00 CT scan didn't take place until after 12:00, and we are still waiting for the surgeon to tell her the results. We've had bad weather here today with some street flooding, so I haven't made it to the hospital. Mammaws is very dizzy today and the surgeon told her this morning it might be because she is dehydrated. Well, duh!! She hasn't eaten or had anything to drink since Friday morning! They let her have ice, but she has to spit out the water!! Hopefull, the test will show enough healing that she can have something to drink. (Besides the crap they give you for the CT scan!!)

It's about 9:15pm Monday and no one has told Mammaws what the CT scan from this morning showed. Her temperature went up earlier and that was kind of scary, but I think it's gone now. She is no longer in pain, but is nauseous. I think they gave her morphine so hopefully she will sleep. I guess the surgeon will grace her with her presence around 6:30 in the morning!
Hospitals suck.

The surgeon finally showed up sometime early this afternoon. Mammaws is definitely getting better, but tomorrow they are going to do a lower GI to rule out any blockage. As long as there is no blockage or abcess, they will continue to treat her with antibiotics, and will not need surgery. She is finally able to swallow the water from the ice, but she says it tastes bad. Whatever kind of drug they are giving her makes her incredibly loopy & drowsy.
Please pray for an easy test with positive results!!!

Praise God! It looks like Mammaws won't need surgery!! Teddy & I visited her this afternoon and she seemed so much better! Except that all the IV fluids & her not eating has resulted in a lot of swelling, but her sense of humor was back. They even allowed her "dinner"! It was vegetable broth (which she did not eat), lemon jello (about 2 bites), cranberry juice, decaf ice tea, and a cherry popsicle. She ate most of the popsicle (with a spoon because it was melty) and that left her with big red puffy lips!! But at least she could laugh about it.
Please keep praying for her. At this point, we have no idea when they will release her.

Friday Update: We are waiting for the doctor to come & release Mammaws. He was supposed to be there right after noon, but it's 3:48 and we haven't heard from him. Mammaws is way past ready to leave! So hopefully, she'll be in her own bed tonight.
My dad is doing better. He said the pain med (Tylenol with codeine) was making his back, chest & side hurt. When he doesn't take that for the broken collar bone pain, his back & side don't hurt! But he is healing.

Minor Setback!! Right after the doctor came in and told Mammaws she could go home, she almost fainted coming back from the bathroom. The doctor was in the room at the time, and he decided maybe she needed, at least, one more day there. So, maybe tomorrow...

You are bring BOTH Mammaw and Lisa's dad slowly back to health. This such great and wonderful news at the end of a VERY DARK week for all of us here at TSA. Thank you for your great mercy, which knows no bounds. Without you, Lord, we would be nothing! Continue to give Mammaw and Lisa's papa all of the strength that they need to get better. You are so good! In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Really glad that Mammaws is back in her own bed, and that there is improvement with both people. :) I could bet you're exhausted. Everybody deserves to get some well-needed rest.
