I wanted to ask for your prayers for my home town of El Paso. If you have been there it is a beautiful desert with mountains all around. Well about 2 days ago they had a big storm go through, with about a foot of rain in some areas. There was lots of flooding and mud slides. My family is okay, my mom lives next to the mountain so they are doing great, and my sister does have to replace some of her roof but not to bad. Like my sister said "we are going to be okay, insurance will fix things and they did issue a state of emergency for the area (to get some federal relief)" but we are worried for the Mexican border city Juarez. There a lot of poor communities, some of the houses are made out of wood pellets and cardboard, and a lot of communities are on hills that are not paved roads so there are mud slides all over. I am pretty sure there are tons of families that were just making it by before and are not doing good because of the flooding.
Be with the poor townspeople of Juarez, as well as anyone else that has been negatively affected by this storm. Help them to recover from this disaster. Rain Your grace down upon them, and let the sunshine of Your love be known to them through the actions of help and caring from those that are coming to assist them. For in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
