Low cost, high calorie

Every day I come home exhausted from work.  The caloric demands of my job are far greater than my appetite.  Does anyone have any suggestions for foods (recipes or ready made) for some things that are really cheap, and packed with energy?

Thanks
Clint

Boil some rotini noodles. While they are cooking, fry up about 1/2 pound of crumbled up pork sausage. Strain both. Heat up some mushroom flavored spaghetti sauce. Mix up together into big bowl. Top it off with some parmasean cheese. AND EAT UP!

You will have to adjust how much of both pasta and sauce that you want to make, considering if you'll have guests.

Make a box of instant macaroni, combine it with a can of solid white albacore tuna, an additional 1/2 cup to 1 cup grated cheddar, and a half cup frozen peas (optional). Tasty, and if you can manage to eat all of it, you've just had between 1200 and 1500 calories. Good, but very fattening. If you buy the ingredients at Aldi, you will have only spent 2 or 3 dollars (at most) per meal.

...

Or, if you find you haven't much of an appetite, eat some peanut butter, either from a spoon, or with crackers. It's very high in calories and protein, and it's cheap.

Don't forget the old stand-by, Ramen noodles. There's so much you can do with them, and if you eat it WITH the broth, the calories shoot up astronomically, from what they actually write on the nutrition information on the back.
