A little advice...

I am contemplating a new job.  My challenges?

  1. I have a very high IQ (not bragging, just a statement, and it can be more crippling than anything).
  2. I only have an Associate's degree (for now)
  3. I'm pretty right-brained--techie jobs are straight out.
  4. I have to take very expensive medications and thus need insurance

Any ideas?

Thanks

Clint

Clint,

What is your degree in and what kind of work background do you have? Also what are your interest?

I know this does not provide justice to your intelligence; however, what about fast-food management?? Everybody needs to start out somewhere. I know a lot of places provide tuition reimbursement for college, and also medical insurance. It is not the best; however, it is something.

Telemarketing companies are high-stress, braindead jobs. Some have great benefits, though. If you're comfortable fill out an online resume at Monster.com, or HotJobs.com I think those are the websites.

Praying for your situation!

I agree with Darrel. There is no shame in flipping burgers in a fast food joint. You just have to remember that to do so is just a JOB and not a CAREER. You won't be working at a deep fryer for the rest of your life...you're just taking a job that will put food on the table and pay some bills, the same stuff that Donald Trump does with his billionaire job.

Except your hair is REAL...and you're CUTE...and much NICER!

I have an Associate's degree in general studies--barely a degree at all.  I had to drop out of a Philosophy degree three classes shy because of finances.  Going back to school at all is going to take at least three years.

I do think I'm getting some direction on all this, though--I'm going to focus on not-for-profits.

Thanks for all the help.
