Once again, I was reminded of the frailty of life and just how short a time we are here on earth. Over the weekend, my former co-worker and friend, John, was killed in a car wreck. John was 41. When I first met John he was struggling to keep a job and was doing just about anything to make a living. I hired him to work in the warehouse and to be a parts runner, (at the company I worked at the time). He was so appreciative and because I gave him a chance to work steady, he would do just about any task I gave him and did it with joy. He always treated me with respect for doing something that I thought we should all do, give someone a chance. John worked hard, and though he had skeletons in the closet that he had to deal with, he turned his life around and became a Deacon in his little Church that he started going to. I am honored to know that God was able to work through me, and John's life was changed. I will miss John and his light hearted way. Rest in peace, brother John.
I am sorry to here of this loss. I will pray for John's family.
