I'm sure you've heard about the cop killing that took place here in Virginia. That was only about 15 minutes from where I work (Reston), and in the town I used to work (Chantilly). The kid who killed the cop was supposed a "punk-gothic type" as reported on CNN, so you know the hoo-hah hit the fan again.
Today was the cop's funeral; she's originally from further out in Virginia but my church (McLean Bible Church) is the only church large enough to house a funeral for 10,000 cops from all over the country (ironically, here for Fallen Cop Week - she couldn't have picked a more ironic time to be killed), so our group decided to help with the funeral preparations - oh course dressed gothic style - to show that not all goths are evil, deranged lawbreakers..
So that was interesting
But anyway, one of my goth friends has since dumped me as a friend because I'm friends with "her enemies". I kid you not.
*sigh* I deal with problems you guys probably wouldn't have to deal with; then again, I realize you deal with problems I probably wouldn't deal with.
I'm praying for you, man...I hate it when stuff like this come out and they blame a certain culture, music style or religion for what happened, when it is obvious that the parents and teachers of such messed-up kids are the ones that need to be held accountable.
I hate to hear about your old "friend". It sounds like she's got a little bit of BIGOTRY in her heart, too...I wish you hope and peace.
