He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
I also love Psalm 23. I often recite it to myself when trying to get to sleep. I said each line in my mind, and visualize what it means to me in my life.

I often use these verses when I am battling depression:
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. - Romans 8:1
"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am." - John 14:1-3
I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. - Psalm 3:5-6
Job 3:2 Job said, (this is actually the shortest verse of the Bible. John 11:35 "Jesus wept" has more letters)
Hosea 3: 1 The Lord said to me again, "Go, love a woman who has a lover and is an adulteress, just as the Lord loves the people of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes."
Then my serious favorite:
Isaiah 11:9 They will not hurt or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Roman 5:18-19 So then, as the one sin condemned all mankind, in the same way the one righteous act sets all mankind free and gives them life. And just as all people were made sinners as the result of the disobedience of one man, in the same way they will be put right with God as the result of the obedience of the one man.

This is a familiar passage to most, but I heard it the other day and it seemed to take on a different meaning for me. If people could only remember this, then they may become more at peace with everyone around them. I think that without even knowing it, these verses (having understood them most of my life) were the reason I came to be so accepting of GLTB people. I have no place passing judgement or condeming anyone, cause Lord knows I can barely see with all the dirt in my eyes!
Matthew 7 (Amplified Bible) Matthew 7 1DO NOT judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves.
2For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you.
3Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother's eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye?
4Or how can you say to your brother, Let me get the tiny particle out of your eye, when there is the beam of timber in your own eye?
5You hypocrite, first get the beam of timber out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the tiny particle out of your brother's eye.
6Do not give that which is holy (the sacred thing) to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before hogs, lest they trample upon them with their feet and turn and tear you in pieces.
7Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.
8For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.
9Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone?
10Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent?
11If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!
12So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets
James 1:2-3My brothers, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trails, the result is the ability to endure.
James 5:7-8 Be patient, then, my brothers, until the Lord comes. See how patient a farmer is as he waits for his land to produce precious crops. He waits patiently for th autumn and spring rains. You also must be patient. Keep your hopes high, for the day of the Lord's coming is near.
Hebrews 6:10 God is not unfair. He will not forget the work you did or the love you showed for him in the help you gave and still giving to your fellow Christians.

The Coptic Gospel of Thomas 1:77Jesus said, "It is I who am the light which is above them all. It is I who am the all. From me did the all come forth, and unto me did the all extend. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up a stone, and you will find me there."

The Letter of 1 Clement 8:3: If your sins extend from the earth to the sky and are redder than scarlet and blacker than sackcloth, but you return to me with your whole heart and say, "Father," I will listen to you as to a holy people.
The Letter of 1 Clement 8:4: And come let us reason together, says the Lord. Even if your sins are like crimson, I will make them white as snow; and if they are like scarlet, I will make them white as wool. If you are willing and obey me, you will eat the good things of the earth; but if you are not willing and do not obey me, a sword will devour you. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken these things.

The Letter of 2 Clement 8:2-3: For we are clay in the hand of the artisan. As in the case of the potter;: if he is making a vessel that becomes twisted or crushed in his hands, he then remolds it; but if he has already put it in the kiln, he can no longer fix it. So too with us. While we are still in the world, we should repent from our whole heart of the evil we have done in the flesh, so the Lord will save us - while there is still time for repentance. For after we leave the world we will no longer be able to make confession or repent in that place.

Krypto: This whole passage is my favorite..... Glad you brought this one up. It was really an inspiration to me when I was at a real low point in my life....
1 Peter 5:6-7Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Psalm 55:17-19Morning, noon and night my complaints and groans go up to him, and he will hear my voice. He will bring me safely back from the battles that I fight against so many enemies. God, who has ruled from eternity, will hear me and defeat them; for they refuse to change, and they do not fear him.
