Tomorrow I must go in to the office of my apartment complex, and have a talk with the manager about why I'm moving in a week. It is too expensive for me to live here, and there have been days where I go with only one meal. I could barely afford to do my laundry, and bills are always coming. Hence, the reason why I'm looking for a part time job. She stated on a letter I received, there is a fee for breaking the contract. However, on the contract which I have a photocopy of--she did not write down a fee in the blank--leaving that section of the contract void. Pray for me, as I am bringing that up to her, tomorrow. I've found a cheaper place, and have already paid 1st month rent + deposit--and I know I'll be happier.
Thanks everyone. *Christian Hugs* Darrel
ps: I just wish people would be more understanding that not everyone is made of money...

We'll be praying for you, Darrel. We just had to move Teddy's mom without a 60 day required notice. We gave them a 30 day verbal notice, but the doctor's letter (stating she needed to move to an assisted living place) didn't get there until several days later. They wanted to charge her $150 for those few days. When we finally got everything out of her apartment, we dropped the keys & the unsigned letter requesting the addition fee through the night drop. Teddy's mom is almost 80. It's not like she's going to be applying for other apartments in the future!
Good luck to you! We'd help you move but we are going to be busy that day!

Let everything go Darrel's way tomorrow, as he confronts his manager with this issue. Be with him and give him the words he needs to face this person and win. Give him Your supernatural courage and strength. Bless my friend with wonderful opportunities for witnessing within his new residence. Give him blessings of financial prosperity. For in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
I'll be praying for you Darrel. I know what difficulty with budgets can be and I will also pray thayt the Lord will bless you in your new place.

I work in property management so I see both sides of the story.
Darrel, I'm sorry that you are having such a hard time but I'm glad you found a new more affordable place. Legally, if something is not in your contract your manager cannot enforce it. She would have to take you to court and she would not be able to prove that you owe the fee if it wasn't in your contract or she didn't have a signed addendum from you.
On the other hand, don't be upset at the manager. She is just doing her job. I completely understand that "people aren't made of money" but in the property management business if you feel sorry for every person that comes in with a sob story, you will lose your shirt. You have to be kind of tough even if your heart is breaking for people on the inside. Trust me, I've been there.
