Last evening, we had tornadoes, thunderstorms and dime-sized hail. It was very freaky! And a little bit scary with all of the low clouds swirling around.
What is the strangest, or scariest, weather that you've ever experienced?
Mine was when we had a hailstorm about 3 years ago. It came down hail stones the size of BASEBALLS! One of them was even in the shape of a carrot! We had to put on a new roof on part of the house.
Before we had kids, we went through hurricane Alicia. We lived on the end of a street across from a railroad track that ran up from Galveston. Until late at night, they were moving trains north right past our house. Sounded just like a tornado each time. I was terrified the whole night. But the weirdest part was when the eye passed right over us. One minute the wind was from one direction, then utter calm, then the wind came from the other direction. It was scary!
