Sci-Fi Fans

At last!  So, do we have any science fiction TV fans here?  Like Star Trek, Quantum Leap, Smallville, etc, etc......

Oooh! I AM! I AM!

I LOOOOOVE Star Trek! G4TV is going to start showing the old episodes from the very first Star Trek series in a NEW format! It'll be INTERACTIVE over the net!

The new Battlestar Galactica is okay, but a little too much like a soap opera for my tastes.

And have you seen the brand new "Doctor Who"? It is actually BETTER than the originals that I used to watch when I was a kid! The Doctor is most definitely IN!

My mom's a big fan of "Quantum Leap". She absolutely LOOOOOVES that show! I think she even cried a little after the very last episode...

I have only seen a couple of the shows of "Smallville". A little too "out there" for my tastes.

But other than that...I am HOOKED on the Sci-fi Channel! What's you guys' favorite movie that you've seen on there? Mine's "Dog Soldiers"! Hoo-yah!

I like some sci-fi stuff, but not too much.  I don't like Stargate, or whatever it is that's always on Sci-Fi channel.  But I LOVED Mystery Science Theater 3000!  I hate that they took that off.  Alan & I used to laugh our butts off at that show!!

I read some sci-fi stuff, but more horror type stuff instead.

For some reason, I find myself totally attracted to sci-fi geeks...er, fans...  :)  I don't mind stargate every once in awhile, but do I REALLY have to wear the Chewbacca costume to the convention this month?

I love Quantum Leap!!!!  Tell her I cried too in that last episode.  I've been waiting for years for more closure due to that last scene.  Quantum Leap season 4 comes out next week!

I seriously had a gay guy online tell me he would never want to meet me because I liked Lord of the Rings, Matrix I, Dune, etc.

I love DC. :(

I know we're talking about the original version, but could I guest star as Gunni/Gainen/Gu-gay something (Whoopi Goldberg's character from next gen)? I've always wanted to be a bar maid with a giant table-shaped cloth hat!

Actually no.  Spock is a Vulcan.  Vulcans have no emotions.  Goths are ALL ABOUT THE DRAAAAAAAMA

So that would make me.. uh.. Dr McCoy again! :)

Okay, enough of the Star Trek stuff...Let's now talk about Star Wars!

Which was the coolest movie and why? (episode 4)

How did you react when you first learned that Vader was Luke's father? (I remember 300 nerds in the movie theater jumping up and yelling in unison, "WHAT THE F***!")

Which Star Wars character would you most likely to ask out on a date? (Chewbacca the Wookie...I "bears"! )

I'm not sure which Star Wars movie I like best, I think I might have to say The Empire Strikes Back.

Tim....Jeffrey...you ready for this???

I copied and pasted this article:

'Star Trek' Franchise Set for Revival
2008 Film to Be Directed by Man Behind 'Lost'
Reuters

LOS ANGELES (April 21) - More than three years after the last "Star Trek" movie crashed at the box office, the venerable sci-fi franchise is being revived by the director of the upcoming "Mission: Impossible" sequel, Daily Variety reported in its Friday edition.

The as-yet-untitled "Star Trek" feature, the 11th since 1979, is aiming for a fall 2008 release through Paramount Pictures, the Viacom Inc. unit looking to restore its box-office luster under new management, the trade paper said.

The project will be directed by J.J. Abrams, whose Tom Cruise vehicle "Mission: Impossible III" will be released by Paramount on May 5. Abrams, famed for producing the TV shows "Alias" and "Lost," will also help write and produce.

Daily Variety said the action would center on the early days of "Star Trek" characters James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, including their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and first outer-space mission.

The paper described "Star Trek" as Hollywood's most durable performer after James Bond, spawning 10 features that have grossed more than $1 billion and 726 TV episodes from six series.

The 10th film, "Star Trek: Nemesis," bombed at the box office on its December 2002 release, earning just $43 million in North America. Last year, Viacom-owned broadcast network UPN pulled the plug on the low-rated series "Star Trek: Enterprise" following a four-season run.

Not sure how I feel about this since I thought Star Trek Enterprise was the worst Star Trek show ever.

What would really gain a station reviews:

If they play Star Trek: TNG for an hour Monday-Friday, starting with the pilot episode, and ending with the last one. It will take a long while to do it; however, I believe it to be a good idea...if the company wants to buy rights, and stuff. I HATE it when they revive old shows, and they play just whatever episode. It confuzzles me.

I love Star Trek. I only watched one episode of "Enterprise." It stunk. *blech*

All-right!!!  Another chapter in the Star Trek Universe!!!  Not sure how well it will be received, but I'll go see it.  I wonder who will play Kirk and who will play spock?

Darrel, Spike and G4 are both airing TNG in the correct order.  And they both just restarted the series about 2 weeks ago, with the pilot.
