Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the wonderful gift of your Son, Jesus. Without Him, I would probably be dead and in hell right now. His love is all too often the ONLY thing that gives me hope. And it is this very hope that this dear Afghan believer, new to your truth, is suffering unto death. He may be executed, Lord, for bearing your Son's name. Be with him as he faces this most trying and dark night of his life. Let him show to his captors the love and peace that comes only from knowing Jesus. Let his life be a witness. And, Lord...if it be your will...welcome him home with your arms wide open to him into his everlasting reward for accepting your love and forgiveness. Help us, God, to be the kind of witness to this dark and fallen world that this man is. Help us to get our hearts and minds off from ourselves and our problems, and onto you and your blessed Son and the work that He has given to us to do within His Great Commission.

For in Jesus' name, I pray...Amen!
