When I got kicked off of GCN, one of the things that kept running through my head was the need to minister to people in a little more personal way than just the written word. I haven't really known what that would entail until this morning.
A situation came up where I was really wishing I had a member's phone number. Communicating through email is difficult. On one hand, you might feel free to say way more in an email than you would in person. But on the other hand, understanding the intent behind your words can be subjective to so many things. Since we all live so far apart, the telephone may be the next best thing.
I would like to keep a directory with the phone numbers and addresses of each of the members, if you would be willing to share that information. It is not required, and will in no way influence my "moderation" if you choose to not give out any info. This is something that only Teddy & I would have access to, and it would not be shared with any other members. (Sharing that information among yourselves is fine.)
Some of you know about the reason for me being kicked off of GCN. I shared a member's phone number with a moderator because I thought that person was in trouble. But since I AM the moderator, no one can accuse me of breaking any rules!!
Seriously, if you want to share your information with me, I will guard it well. I would only use it if I thought a member was in trouble or needed some encouragement beyond an email. You can share as little or as much as you'd like. Just send it to me in an email or PM.
We pay for unlimited long distance each month on our phones, so I might as well get my money's worth! It's the same cost if I make one call or 100!

Lisa, my friend, you did the right thing. You tried to help the other person, that tells me how good hearted you are. i do know how it feels to try to help and get kicked in the teeth in return. it does bring hurt and pain. it does make one cry and question self.
Now you are the moderator, I suppose you have a crockpot full of cold wet noodles.
A few people have sent me there info. No one has access to it but me, and Teddy if need be. But I completely understand that it's a personal preference.

I have no problem. Maybe you can make it a private section in the details section of our bios, so we can update them and put them in if we want.
