Sometimes it just seems like its all random.  Randomness.  Like when Forrest Gump asked if we're all just floating around like in a breeze.  Sometimes I watch people pray and nothing.  Other times I watch people pray and something and wonder why was one answered over the other or is it all random?  I would ask God, but I fear the answer might be random.  I'm sure no one is reading this anyway.
