I didn't remember what today is until I typed the date up there.  Election Day.  Thank God!  I'm so tired of my mail box being filled with wasted paper from all the campaign crap we get.  And I'm so tired of commercials filled with whining, tattling people ("he did this", and "she didn't do this").  And I'm tired of those ugly signs people have in their yard or that blanket the area around voting locations.  Has anybody ever been swayed to vote for someone just because there is a sign with that person's name on it next to someone's mailbox?  I don't think the election is going to go the way I hoped it would, but I'm ready to just get back to normal life.

Other than that, things are peachy.smile

I'm waiting for one candidate to accuse the other of having "cooties" to cast my vote...I've never seen an election so NEGATIVE as this one.

After previewing the candidates' stands on the issues I have decided...

that I don't like NEITHER one of them! BOTH have made promises that I know that they CAN'T keep. Neither is for gay marriage. Both tax cut plans will increase the national debt by about a TRILLION dollars. And regardless of how much oil there is in America, neither one will drill for it because that would make Al Gore mad.

I think that I'll pass on electing anyone this year. Obama, why don't you just come out and say it: you're going to raise my taxes. McCain, you're choice of a nutty "soccer mom" from Alaska shows that you're too senile to hold public office anymore...and, because of Bush, I doubt that I'll see another Republican hold his head up high for the next 20 years, much less have a chance of running for the White House.

Wow.  Just think what shape this country would be in if everybody felt that way.  I'm very proud of the fact that I got out there & voted.
