What we'll do for our kids!!!!

Last week my older son, TJ, called with an interesting request.   Before I tell you what the request is, I want to give a little background info that led to the request.

TJ is a sophmore in High School and is fixing to turn 16.  His mother moved to Florida 2 years ago taking the boys with her.  They have had a good life there and my kids have made many friends.

Well, this summer, July 12 to be exact, my ex is remarrying.  To a guy in central Georgia.  And in so doing moving my boys again, and this time it falls between TJ's Sophmore and Junior year in High School.

The boys seem to be okay with things and with their mother's plans.

But TJ needs a little something to help him cope with the new changes.

He needs a ROADTRIP!!!!!

From North Carolina to California.   Coast to coast.

And I can't say no......

So, come August 1, my car will be headed west.....

TJ, 16
his best friend Travis, 18
and me, 38, but mentally 17

We are planning our intinerary.

So far it consists of stopping in Memphis, with a drive-by of Graceland.

A night at Albuqueque

Four Corners (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico border)

Grand Canyon

Los Angeles

Hollywood

San Diego

Vegas

Hoover Dam

Then back home

And all in 11 days!!!!!!

I must be nuts!!!!!

But I'm as excited as the kids are........

Four months to raise $2000

I am accepting donations.........

the things we'll do for our kids..........

I have two words for you, Tim:  pig skins!  You can't take a road trip without a bag of spicy pig skins.

Why is it whenever I read this post I'm reminded of that verse that goes "And Moses lead the Israelites in the desert FORTY YEARS"? hmm.gif

Prepare yourself for a lot of "I got to go!", "I'm hungry!" and "Are we there yet?"
