If you add up all the votes in TX by party you have:
2,807,329 democratic votes
1,229,573 republican votes
Does this mean TX could be a blue state this coming election

not at all, remember this was only the primary election. You may even have had Republican's voting in the Democratic pri. to affect the outcome.
