It made me laugh too. It also made me think about Pa's funeral, when they were carrying the casket to the gravesite, and that very old man was the pall bearer (or Pa bearer, in this case) in the front & almost dropped his corner. This story wouldn't have made us laugh if they had dropped Pa's casket!

Did you hear the one about the young new preacher that went to his first funeral service? I read it somewhere. Hope I get it right.
The young man was supposed to do a funeral for the relative of a parishoner and got lost. He was about to give up when he looked and saw the mound of dirt with two men standing near by. He jumped out of his car and threw on his suit coat, grabbed his Bible and ran over to where they were. He started his sermon and preached up a storm. He read from the Psalms. He preached the fires of hell to the unbeliever and repentence towards Jesus. He told of the wrath of God that was about to fall on the world. He asked the Lord to have mercy on the poor one being laid to rest. When he was done he was sweaty and tired as he got in his car and left. The one man asked the other one "what do you think about that?" The other guy scratched his head and said "It sure was beautiful but I aint never heard of a preacher giving a septic tank a sendoff message like that before burying it."
