John 20:7

John 20:7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

I have heard sermons about this going into many aspects of why this napkin was placed by itself. Some say that it is because the Lord will return.
The word of God shows us that all the laws and prophets bear witness to Jesus being the husband of the church and the Messiah that would come to redeem it in a mystery.
We can see that in a type and shadow as Moses put a veil over his face so that the glory of God couldn't be seen. We also know that Stephen's face shone as an angel when he was full of the Holy Ghost. Angels are in God's presence and are seen as shining and in bright raiment.
We also know that Paul said a man shall leave his Father and mother and cleave unto his wife and these two shall be one. We know that there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God and Father who is above all. This Paul referred to as a great mystery. Hidden from those without spiritual understanding.
When we see these mysteries we can see that Jesus' glory was hidden. The three disciples saw his glory but were told not to show it until after he was risen.
Could that napkin maybe have told Peter he could share what he saw on the mount of transfiguration?
Peter, James and John always went where Jesus went.
In Peter we see faith. He was the one that stepped out of the boat. He entered into the sepulchre. Under the law if the body of Jesus had been there and all that Jesus told them was a hoax Peter would have been damned. The priests that hated Jesus would never have given an offering for his sin. It took great faith to step into that sepulchre knowing if the Lord is there dead you're going to hell.
In James we see works. James said that works without faith is dead being alone. The Lord delights in a just weight and an equal measure. Faith combined with works. Works actually balances out faith.
In John we see love. John loved Jesus probably more than any of the others as we see when he laid his head on Jesus breast at the last supper.
When we see that Jesus always took these three whom Paul called pillars of the church we see that the Lord delights and calls those who have faith like Peter, works to balance out their faith like James and love him like John. That also bears witness that a three-fold cord is not easily broken. When you have faith combined with works and a love of the Lord it is hard to fall. This also establishes you faith as under the law every matter is established in the mouth of two or three witnesses. Those three things establish a love of Jesus combined with faith and works.

Psalm 119:135 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.

When Peter noticed that the napkin was by itself it bore witness that the laws and prophets were fulfilled and that his servants could now see his glory. Can we see this in scripture?

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

It just might be that when Peter went into that sepulchre and saw that napkin laying in a place by itself he knew that it was the time to share what he saw on the mount of transfiguration and that what he saw was the glory of God.

  How bright is that glory?

Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

In other words, and the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to lighten it: for Jesus, the Lamb is the Light thereof!

  May God bless,

  Tiffany
