The babies are on the top branch, Mom is on the left of the bottom branch, & Dad is to the right. Notice that one of the babies is facing the wrong way!!

I was feeding all 10 of our birds this morning, and noticed that I hadn't seen Mom & Dad in a couple of days. After doing a little investigating, I now know why.
THEY ARE SITTING ON ANOTHER CLUTCH OF EGGS!!!
Anybody want a baby finch or three? They're FREE!!!!!!!!

You can remove the eggs though that should stop them from settling so much... like with chickens. if the farmer doesnt want them to settle, he removes the eggs so eventually the hens would just have the eggs and move away... but if the farmer wants them to have the eggs, he just leaves the eggs in there and the hen will eventually lay them.
Yeah, I've read that about removing the eggs, but as a mom, I just can't bring myself to do it!! I've also read that you can remove nesting material so they can't build a nest. In this case, the birds used a planter hanging on the wall, complete with fake plants! Maybe they'll have plastic eggs!
