Amy & I spent a couple of hours this afternoon at Ikea. Cool place. Stupid layout. No shopping carts upstairs and the first thing you see when you get off the escalator are these little glass candle holders (of which I needed a bunch!). All you have to carry your purchases in is a big plastic bag. Certainly discourages you from buying too much upstairs.
Then there was the rude checker. No personality at all. But the kicker is that you have to PAY for a plastic bag!! I bought 18 glass candle holders, a box of candles, 3 bags of small rocks, and a glass bowl (all of which are really cool) but after ringing it up she says, "Do you want a bag for that?" Amy & I had to wrap up the candles ourselves!!
If the candle holders didn't look so good that I want more of them, I'd never go back!!

I've decided to fold up the 2 I've already bought and take them back with me next time I go!!
You know, I'm all for cost cutting so that the customer can get the best price, but when you make it difficult for your customers to buy stuff, you are going to lose money! There's got to be a better way.
