I guess I should take the time to introduce myself to you all here on The Shepard.
My name is Michael, I live in St. Louis, MO between my apartment and my partner's place until my lease ends next July or I find someone else to take over my lease and/or sublease the place from me.
I've been a born-again Christian since the age of 17 and spent two very miserable years in the Assemblie's of God denomination in which I was outed and (figureatively) thrown out of the church and told to never come back.
I recently as January had been attending MCC of Greater St. Louis but left there in late January to attend another church which didn't work out all that well and am now with my partner Rob's church, Everyone's Community Church, which is a congregationalist congregation. It's a new church start that we will slowly try and rebuild from the ground up (we did have 40+ members at one time, but we had what you would call a "church or clergy killer" in the church), and thus, it's just Rob, the Board President, the Vice-President, and myself (the Secretary/bookkeeper).
I was a member of GCN but have since left due to some unforseen circumstances that has left a rather bad taste in my mouth............and no, don't ask me what it was either. That's as far as I'll go with that. I was so thrilled that Mama Lisa PMed me on GCN and told me about this wonderful community. Speaking of which Lisa, I have an idea for another Forum I'd like to see if you'd be willing to add. I'll send you a PM with further info on that!
I don't know about the rest of you, I can't believe how fast this year has gone. I guess what they say is true, the older you get, the faster it goes! (I'll be 39 in December! YIKES!)
Oh, if you've been wondering who that foxy gal in the picture is with me, it's Mandy Bruno, a daytime drama star from "Guiding Light" who was in town with two other actor's from the same show helping 100 fans spruce up an elementary school just prior to the start of the school year. That was back on August 18. It was a blast! BTW, Mandy plays "Marina Cooper" on "GL" and she just recently ended a run on Broadway as "Eponine" in "Les Miz", which I along with Rob saw at the famed outdoor professional and largest in the country music theatre, The Muny in St. Louis at Forest Park (it seats 11,000)! If you can't tell already, I'm a huge live theatre fan, especially musical theatre. Nothing like watching a musical for 2-3 hours a night and letting the music just take you away for a night.
Ok, enough rambling. I need to check email, take my meds, and head to bed. Rob has already hit the sack. His Narcolepsy hit him pretty good and he ended up in bed with his clothes on. So, I need to get in there and get his clothes off and get snuggled in bed with him.
