So,I guess I am the first here today. Wow, I actually went to bed at 12am and slept til 4:45am...so that is a good improvement. I hope I can do it again tonight, lol. I want to get some things done...maybe mow the lawn in an hour before it starts getting really hot. It's going to get to 104 degrees today here in my town of Munford. I don't mind heat though, lol. I'll just be sure to drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen. Well,I am going to get started on getting things done soon. I hope everyone has a great day. TTUL!!
I actually had a good night of sleep, went to bed around 1am and got up at 10. I feel really good today . Today I have to recheck every thing I did in the past 3 days to make sure I did it correctly lol. It is so weird that I feel just fine when I am lacking sleep but then after I am rested I can remember all the dumb stuff I did, almost like being drunk.
Well, I slept like crap last night. I only slept like 3 hours. Tomorrow should be a very interesting day with the weather. My life is going to be crazy. Please be praying for me. It will not be easy. I will keep you posted!
I slept well last night, except for waking up around 4am during the storm that passed! I had an incredibly busy day at work, and even though I have a couple of weeks of busy days ahead of me, I felt like I made headway today. And I got word that whenever I'm ready I can start working full time - which means a pay increase & benefits!! By the way, that "other" job never came through. Just as well...

Just got home from work. Had a good day. Gonna head for the airport in a few minutes to pick up John's mom, who is flying back from a visit to her cousin in Arkansas.

Teddy went to choir & I watched most of a movie on LOGO called An Early Frost. It was made in 1985, and had a very young Aiden Quinn as a gay man with AIDS. Anyone remember it?

yep, I remember it... but It has been so long ago I don't remember much about it... except that it was sad. it was one of the first AIDS films made...
I just came from a film screening of a movie called Holding Trevor... it has made a few film festivals... but getting ready to go into theatrical release... so it will be hard to find for a while... until they make it onto dvd... interesting Twist... the gay guys didn't die of AIDS... but one of them did die of a drug overdose... he was a crack addict... and the gay guys heterosexual FEMALE roommate went with her friend and roommate to get an HIV test... and to her shock she tested Positive for HIV...
It is a good message young women (and men need to see)... that drinking impairs judgment... she drank a lot and she actually got so drunk she had sex with a guy, and she wakes up and can't believe she did it... because she normally doesn't have sex with others... so it only took one time for her to have unprotected sex... and that one time she got infected... even though it is a movie... IT does happen...
Every where I go... I stress the importance of staying Sober... I have not probably with people drinking... if they are legal age... but Getting drunk or high is not only irresponsible... it is dangerous... It impairs judgment and often people who are high or drunk do things they normally wouldn't do... and they put themselves at risk for HIV and other STI's (Sexually Transmitted Infections)... NO GLOVE.... NO LOVE... and Don't go mixing your sex with drugs & alcohol.
Sorry to preach... I really want to get a Research Grant or a Grant to Travel around the Country speaking to College Students about HIV... I would like to do HIV knowledge pre-testing before I speak and then post testing... and then write a report and or book on the failure of the US Federal Policy of Abstinence Only Sex Education... instead of Abstinces as a part of a comprehensive Sex education and Infection Prevention Education for our middle schools, junior high and high schools.
Luckily in California... Public Schools are not allowed to teach Abstinence only because we have a State Law that requires that Sex & Health Education must be based on Scientific data, and criteria and not based on political or religious ideology.
In fact The Current Bush Administration's Policy has actually done more harm towards HIV prevention than good... and not only in the US... Some Countries such as Brazil... Turned down US money because they refused to accept the US Administration's Abstinence only training... HOWEVER, other countries such as Uganda which was successfully using ABC policy: Abstience, Be Faithful/Monogamy, Condoms prevention ... see an increase in infections when it gave up this policy in certain areas to accept the US money.
Also, because the US policy says that a large percentage or all of the funds must be spent on Abstinece only... it has preventing countries from using the funds to deal with HIV and AIDS among women & children where Consenual Sexual Intercourse is not an option... and there is large numbers of women who are raped and or children sold into or forced to work in prostitution... by their parents or by pimps who prey on them after they are orphaned by the death of their parents either from violence and or AIDS.
WE REALLY need to pray for our world... We must do more to bring healing... and to bring information to folks that can save their lives!
Well... It is the next day... so I guess I better go to bed... Thanks for letting me share... If you have children and or friends, family who are sexually active, or you... yourself are sexually active... Please get educated, get the FACTS... from Reliable sources and share it... because this information SAVES lives.
