Car drama, stalkers, the police...

The car drama gets more fun

When we last tuned in, this guy wanted me to drive 3 hours with dead plates to pick up my "new car" (that I've never seen), put the dead plates on it and drive it 3 hours back to Virginia (which is uber-illegal)

I of course refused, he got ugly, we had a shouting match on the phone, he went berzerk, I went KRIEG on his arse

Fast forward a week to today

He somehow got the car back to Virginia w/o me and claims that I now own it because he signed over the title to me.. in my name. The car that I've never seen, the title I've never seen and of course I signed nothing and gave him no money for anything. He is now harassing me to either pick up my "new car" or sign over the title to him, which is, as you guessed, illegal.

I called my lawyer. He suggested I call the police now.

How's that for a fun day!

*UPDATE* (you know you wanna know)

Called the police who directed me to call the DMV.. they said that if I can get a copy of the title with my name listed then he committed a crime, otherwise, regardless, the car is not mine, not legally mine, not registered at the DMV as mine, so he's stuck with a car..

But it's so much fun to share the weirdness of it all.. hey after all, being a Goth doesn't mean having a boring life, now does it?

;)

You know what, Phil.  I just realized that I don't know what car you are talking about.  Is this the same car that your "friend" sold you that had mechanical problems?  Refreshed this old brain and tell me the whole story!

If Goth means not having a boring life, then you are FAR more Goth than I ever hope to be! headbang.gif

No this is another car to replace the car with mechanical problems that I foolishly bought from him over a year ago. This other car I have never seen and has never been formally nor officially checked out by anyone except by this lovely individual that simply won't go away and refuses to accept the idea that I don't legally own this other car and never have!

Sorry to be so snappy, I had to work 3:30am - 5:30am and didn't even get home until literally 1/2 hour ago due to Metro delays. No sleep = cranky Phil

God bless you, buddy! Car people can be the devil in disguise sometimes. I hope you get a break.
